ADULT
TRAINING

Parents today,
expect that adults who care for their sons & daughters, should be
capable & responsible.
To support Leaders,
the Association has a training scheme which covers the Association's fundamentals, policies and balanced programme.
In Berkshire,
training is free for each leader.
Courses encourage contact with leaders from
other Groups & Districts and the sharing of ideas and methods
Training consists of
18 modules, which after the "Getting Started," modules (Nos. 1, 3 & 6)
can be undertaken in a variety of ways and venues throughout the County.
-
Leaders changing
appointment, Group or District, can have prior experience validated.
-
Some modules can
be done on-line at
www.scouts.org.uk/learnersresources
-
Some courses can
be attended in an evening
-
Some courses can
be on a Saturday or Sunday
-
A new way in
Berkshire only, in order to remove overlap, is "Harmonized Learning" and
completes the training in 3 full weekends, spread out over 2
or 3 years and completed in any order
All training needs
a completed validation, and whilst training is the responsibility of
the individual Leader, the training team, all volunteers like
themselves, are available for support and advice
Training Modules and
dates are available at
www.berkshirescouts.org.uk/diary where the modules can be booked
on-line
Reminders will be
sent from the Adult Training Team, alerts on the Berkshire website and
on this website. Your Training Managers are available for information
& advice. |
